MagiqADs secures top In-store Media position by bagging MYDIN

With the addition of Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (MYDIN) to its retail media network, MagiqADs now manages media in more than 63.37% of the top six retailers in the country based on figures from the KANTAR WORLD PANEL Key Retail Trends Report Dec. 2010.

MYDIN recently signed with MagiqADs as its exclusive representative for selected media in all its hypermarkets and supermarkets and convenience stores throughout Peninsular Malaysia. MagiqADs currently also manages media in Tesco, Carrefour and Jusco stores as well as all 7-11 convenience stores in the country.

MYDIN offers brands a unique opportunity to connect with shoppers in “other urban” areas, where it has the largest number of outlets, particularly on the East Coast and the North. According to Nielsen Media Index Jan-Dec’10, MYDIN has the highest catchment rate for Malay customers who make up 77% of its customer base.

MYDIN shoppers tend to be very loyal, and it is rated highest amongst its customers for competitive pricing according to Nielsen Media Index Jan-Dec’10. Based on KANTAR WORLD PANEL Key Retail Trends Report Dec. 2010 MYDIN’s absolute growth for 2010 compared with 2009 was 12%.

From its humble beginnings as an emporium catering mainly to the Malay/ Muslim market; MYDIN has grown to become one of the leading hypermarket and supermarket chains in Malaysia. According to reports in the press earlier this year, MYDIN is committed to investing RM1.4 billion to set up 14 new hypermarkets throughout the country over the next three years.
